KEMRI through the CENTRE FOR GLOBAL HEALTH RESEARCH (CGHR) KISUMU with the support of the Global Health EDCTP3 Joint Undertaking is conducting a project entitled – Linking Infectious disease Front-liners’ control Efforts with central public health authorities in The African Great Lakes Region (GREATLIFE) project aimed at providing front-line disease diagnostic data using genomics. Position: Internship (3 Positions)
Location: Kisumu and Kericho
Reports to: Project Investigator
Duration: One year without extension
Field of study:
 Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry/Microbiology / Molecular Biology/ Biotechnology/ Genomics or any related biological science course from a recognized institution.
 Be Familiar with conducting literature review.
 Conversant with basic microbial culture techniques and epidemiology
 Be Familiar with genome sequence technologies and applications.
Terms of Engagement:
The successful candidate will be paid a monthly stipend Ksh. 25,000 without any other
benefits.
Interns will be expected to take up a personal accident cover and medical Insurance cover
for the period of internship.
