Mt Kenya Regrets Supporting Kenya Kwanza – Waititu

Waititu Urges Gachagua to Champion ‘One Man, One Vote, One Shilling’

Former Kiambu Governor Ferdinand Waititu has voiced the growing regret among the people of the Mt Kenya region over their support for the Kenya Kwanza government. Speaking in Ruiru on Friday, Waititu expressed disappointment that those who voted for the current regime have not yet seen the benefits of their support.

“We, the people of the Mt Kenya region, regret electing this government as our people in Nairobi and other areas are suffering,” Waititu stated.

He further urged Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua to continue advocating for the implementation of the “one man, one vote, one shilling” principle. Waititu emphasized the importance of unity within the Mt Kenya region, suggesting that they should field a presidential candidate in the 2027 elections.

“The Mt Kenya region should speak in one voice and prepare to field a presidential candidate in 2027,” he said.

Waititu also stressed that the people of Nairobi must unite to elect the next governor from the Mt Kenya region. He highlighted the need for reciprocal support, stating, “We people of the Mt Kenya region must be supported in 2027 the same way we support other communities. The next governor must be from Mt Kenya.”
